SMPU: Medication review project

The Medication Review project aims to develop and implement pharmaceutical review and clinical pharmacy services by January 2008, to ensure that 100% of QH patients’ medications are reviewed during their stay. In line with the Health Ministers’ Joint Communique, pharmaceutical review will be undertaken with minimum acceptable standards. In rural and remote areas, or in those areas with workforce shortages, this project aims to identify alternative models of service provision for pharmaceutical review using Telehealth technology and appropriate use of support personnel.
